Editor's response: You can't stop print by pulling the plug. This is a good article, but needs updating to say that you CANNOT unplug the printer while it is printing.

I also had trouble stopping my printer from printing and found that if I took out the printer from its cord, it would not print anymore.

I replaced the ink cartridges and it worked fine for three months until now. If a computer technician can't fix it, you may want to uninstall and reinstall the software. Good luck!

I have been following the "2 minute shut down" method mentioned in this article but 1000 goes by and nothing happens. I have taken the computer out of the cable, taken out the printer from its cord and wondered if this would help. Well, it did not have any effect whatsoever on my computer restarting.

I'm guessing you're using 2001 as your operating system? In that case it may be time to upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows Vista (if you've still got any of those) will work on either OS.
